FTN. Featuring Reider Decker [a strapless kitesurfing movie]

FTN: Strapless Kitesurfing with Reider Decker

“FTN” is a stripped-down look at strapless kitesurfing, shot almost entirely on a Panasonic HVX200 and formatted for VHS tapes — the way it’s meant to be seen. There’s no overproduced polish here, just the raw flow of Reider Decker doing his thing and Michael Davis holding a old camera.

Behind the scenes, filming brought its own challenges. It was freezing on the shore, lot of times more for Michael than Reider in the water. The sound side section alone took just four days to shoot, and getting Reider to ride in that tricky areas was hard. For as little as he rides in the sound, the precision and control he shows is unreal.

Reiders Gear: Airush 5'10 Comp , Airush 5'4 Amp , Airush 5'2 Cypher , Airush 5'10 Os1 , Airush 5'10 converse

Michaels Gear: Panasonic Hvx200 , Olympus Stylus tough , Lumix gh4 , dji action 4 and a few secret lenses

The film isn’t about flashy tricks or careful framing — it’s about the movement, timing, and artistry of strapless riding. Every moment on the water is immediate and real, captured with a raw, analog VHS feel that gives the movie a very familiar taste we rarely see anymore.

“FTN” is a simple, authentic celebration of what makes strapless kitesurfing special: flow, creativity, and a little bit of chaos.
